I wonder who discovered it first ...

I just found out that:

pi x 1337% = 42
I feel like I just discovered one of the great secrets of the universe, and all I can think is "I want that on a t-shirt."

I guess today is the Day of the Nerd.

So, pi (elite skills) = the answer to the Universe?

The only thing scarier is that I understand that.

Considering when Adams wrote "Hitchhiker's Guide" that's pretty damn spooky.

Only if you're dropping decimal places...

Incorrect, Anonomous. 1337% = 13.37.

3.1415926535897 * 13.37 = 42.003093778494289

Heh.

That's right there with the Euler Identity.

Though that's more of pure math geekery.

I found the shirts (and mugs, etc.) on Zazzle. Anyone 1337 enough to grok this can find them, too.

I think I know how anonymous screwed up.

If you use the Windows calculator in scientific mode, the percent key does not work. If you punch it and don't notice that nothing happens, you end up with 4200 and change.
